Pine Valley: Dixie National Forest

Over the weekend my mom and I went for a walk in Pine Valley. We went to Dixie National Forest. I have been to Pine Valley a lot but have never been hiking in Dixie National Forest before so it was really fun to explore! It takes about 45 minutes to get to Pine Valley from St. George. It's super easy. Head north on Bluff Street and take a slight right onto State Route 18. Follow State Route 18. You'll drive through Dammeron Valley, Veyo, and Brookside. Turn right onto East Center Street/Pine Valley Highway in Central. There are a lot of hikes you can do in Pine Valley. If you want to hike in Dixie National Forest there will be plenty of signs to follow. Basically you just turn left when you get to the church (it will be on your right). Then you'll run into the entrance.

Hiking in Dixie National Forest is free! Just tell the person at the entrance that you are only going to be hiking and will park at the trailheads and they will let you in for free.

We decided to do an easy but beautiful walk. We chose to walk the Santa Clara River Walk. When you enter the forest follow the road to the left and you will come to a sign on your right for parking for the Santa Clara River Walkway.

The walk is along a paved path that takes you around Pine Valley Reservoir. We brought our dogs and they loved it!

It was a seriously beautiful place to take a walk. I want to explore a lot more of the Pine Valley area.
