Kisses for Kycie

I went to the last dance for Kisses for Kycie on Friday night. Wow! If you haven't seen Kalamity perform you need to! They were very impressive and extremely entertaining. Such talent. I wish I could move like that! Ballet has always come much more naturally to me than hip hop though. Kalamity's slogan is "Dancing for a cause, not applause". I love that.

Even more amazing than Kalamity though was the Terry family. I don't know how they had the strength to sit through that performance and then be able to get up on stage and smile. Such strength. With the community's help, Kalamity was able to raise around $10,000 last night that the Terry family said they are going to put in a foundation called Kisses for Kycie. They are in the process of wrapping up the paperwork now. This foundation will focus on bringing awareness to Type 1 Diabetes.

My brother has type one diabetes so I have seen first hand how difficult it can be for him and the different life he has to live. Kisses for Kycie will help educate people about the signs of Type One Diabetes and the warning signs of when someone's blood levels are too low. Kycie's story has already saved so many people and will continue to. What an amazing little girl.

Thank you Kalamity for an amazing night.
