George's Corner Restaurant in St. George

My day job is at Markel Realty Group where I am the office manager. I really love my job and the industry I work in is exciting and always changing. Chantel Markel is the broker (aka my boss...and my mom) and I have worked for her since 2009. She opened Markel Realty Group in December of 2011 and I came with her to help her with this exciting adventure. And what an adventure it's been. It's so exciting to be a part of a company that is growing and changing. And the people that work there are so fantastic!

Another one of the perks of working for Markel Realty Group is that my husband, Seth Lancaster is a Realtor at the brokerage! It's exciting, challenging, and fun to be able to work with him.

For Administrative Professionals Day Chantel took me out to lunch at George's. It is a yummy restaurant full of history! It is located on the same corner that the Big Hand Cafe was on in the 1930's and 40's. George Pace owned the Big Hand Cafe which is where George's got it's name. The Big Hand Cafe was a popular tourist spot located by the only stoplight in town. (Information taken from here) I love how the owners of George's have taken this history and made it a great part of this restaurant. They have pictures of the Big Hand Cafe, old pictures of St. George and the people from the 30's and 40's all over the restaurant. The menus have the history of the location on the back of them. Such a great way to honor old St. George. And the food is delicious!
