Affogato - Gourmet Coffee & Beverage Shop

Doesn't this look like the ultimate hang out spot?? Perfect for business meetings, outings with friends, dates, alone time, or whatever it is you're looking for! So where is it?? This is the newest Gourmet Coffee & Beverage Shop in St. George. It's called Affogato. It may sound familiar to you because of their wildly popular truck that could be found around town and at many events. They have decided to put down roots and open this shop and I am sure glad they did!

Affogato has gourmet drinks, coffees, smoothies, ice cream, and rootbeer floats! Everything has a unique flavor and will make you want to keep coming back for more.

Hidden Valley Park

This is a great park in St. George! I hadn't been to it in a really long time and I forgot how cool it really is! It's a large park with so many different things to do. There is a big playground with a separate playground for toddlers. There are two pavilions - one is a large one with lots of picnic tables and the other is smaller with a BBQ. There is also a sand volleyball court, half court basketball court, and tennis courts! Seriously so much to do. Oh and did I mention the splash pad?? This is a park to check out for sure!

Tonaquint Nature Center

The Tonaquint Nature Center is a beautiful place to go for a walk. You will feel like you are secluded from the city even though it is just minutes away from you. You'll love the many trees so you can escape the heat of the sun and enjoy nature. There is a pond where you can feed the ducks and watch the turtles. There are many different kinds of camps that take place at the Nature Center year-round. You can read about them and register by clicking here.

Location: 1851 S Dixie Drive
                St. George, UT 84770

Cost: FREE to walk around and explore. There is a cost for the camps/classes that happen there.

Lake at the Hills in Cedar City, Utah

We took a little trip up to Cedar City to visit the Lake at the Hills. This is a man made 11 acre lake behind the Cedar City Aquatic Center. It was cool to see and a great place to spend an afternoon.
To get to the lake you will see a sign just before you get to the Cedar City Aquatic Center that will tell you to turn right. Follow that road and you'll end up in a parking lot. That's it! Pretty simple.

The lake has lots of picnic tables, two sand volleyball courts, and restrooms on site. You can fish at the lake (free for children under age 12), use paddle boards, kayaks and canoes. Or you can just play in the water! The water is quite chilly so you'll want to make sure it is warm enough outside. This wasn't open when we went but it looks like they have Kayak Rentals through Labor Day (weather permitting). You can read more about that here.

It was great to see and spend some time there but I won't take the time to drive from St. George to Cedar City just to go to the lake again. BUT if you're in the Cedar City area it is a great place to visit.
